J.D.Chou-The Master of Tao Painting



J. D. Chou is considered to be one of the foremost pioneering artists in contemporary China to revitalize the school of Taoist painting. His work is simple, direct, spontaneous and powerful and captures the very essence of Taoist philosophy.J.D. began studying painting at the age of eight and has learnt both Western oil painting as well as Japanese Zen painting. The artist has also published several books on Taoism. Now based in Beijing, Chou held his first exhibition of Taoist paintings in 1972 in Hong Kong, since then, he has presented more than 31 one-man shows throughout the world including Beijing Art Museum, HK Arts Center, Taiwan Museum, Japan Ukoseka, Victoria National Art Gallery.
